Rangers Unite Across Africa for Race Day!
Now in it’s sixth year, the 2025 Wildlife Ranger Challenge culminated in race day on Saturday September 20th and what a day it was!
Race Day 2025 saw ranger teams across Africa take on the ultimate test of endurance – a 21km run carrying heavy kit – to showcase the strength, resilience, and dedication of those on the conservation frontline. The Wildlife Ranger Challenge continues to unite the continent’s rangers while raising vital funds and awareness for their work protecting wildlife and wild places.
This year, four hubs brought teams together in regional races. At Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya, 27 teams pushed across the savannah under the hot equatorial sun. Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park saw 11 teams run a course alongside the Nile Delta, while in South Africa the Southern African Wildlife College hosted competitors on rugged Kruger bushveld terrain. In Zambia, the Kafue Wild hub celebrated biodiversity as seven teams from across the park and its partners battled for the title.
From the savannahs of East Africa to the bushveld of the south, ranger teams showed grit, teamwork, and determination. Their efforts on Race Day 2025 highlighted not only their physical strength but also their vital role as guardians of Africa’s natural heritage.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already contributed to these incredible conservation heroes. Donations remain open until 30th September, and thanks to the generous support of our founding donor, Mark Scheinberg, and other funding partners, every gift will still be doubled.
