The Wildlife Ranger Challenge has been underway for the past two months, culminating on 19 September in Race Day: the Challenge’s most recognisable moment. As the dust settles, we look back at some of the day’s highlights and standout statistics.
The race itself, a gruelling 21km half marathon run in ranger uniform and carrying full kit, is an apt reflection of the physical toll of a single day’s patrol. A huge thank you to everyone who took part or stood in solidarity with rangers and the Challenge’s mission, including Mark Scheinberg, who match funds $1 million.
The Wildlife Ranger Challenge has reinforced the importance of fitness, wellbeing, and readiness in the field for rangers, as well as connected rangers across the continent, reminding them they are part of a community.
