Training Challenges
Training Challenges
Wildlife rangers are required to stay at the top of their physical and mental game. Their vital work takes them into challenging environments and conditions. For their safety and wellbeing rangers train to keep in peak physical shape.
Ahead of race day, ranger teams spanning the African continent competed in a series of mental and physical challenges, preparing for their 21km half marathon which took place in September.
Get Involved
Wildlife rangers spend up to 18 hours a day in the bush, monitoring wildlife, tracking poachers and supporting communities. This gruelling work is undertaken across vast landscapes, requiring rangers to be in peak physical shape.
Why not take on the Training Challenges yourself and see how you match up?
Share your attempt at either challenge on social media with the hashtag #TrainLikeARanger, see how you compare to our ranger teams and donate to support their work.
