Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2026 Hub
Kafue National Park – Zambia
On Saturday 19 September, 11 registered ranger teams gathered at Kafue National Park for the Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2026 Race Day.
Kafue National Park once again hosted the Wildlife Ranger Challenge’s Zambia Regional Hub, bringing together ranger teams from across the country to take on the 21km challenge.
The ranger race forms part of KafueWild, an established trail-running event celebrating Kafue National Park, its extraordinary biodiversity and the people working to protect it. Based at Hook Bridge, the event brings together rangers, conservation organisations and public runners for a day of activity in one of Zambia’s most important wilderness landscapes.

The Kafue Course
The 21km ranger challenge takes place around Hook Bridge in Kafue National Park, with teams running through the park landscape in full ranger kit and carrying their required weighted packs.
Kafue National Park covers around 22,400 km² and is Zambia’s oldest national park. Its vast mix of woodland, grassland and aquatic habitats makes it a distinctive setting for Race Day.
