On Saturday 19 September, 26 ranger teams gathered at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in northern Kenya for the Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2026 Race Day.

Lewa once again hosted one of the Wildlife Ranger Challenge’s four Regional Hubs, bringing ranger teams together to take on the 21km challenge across this spectacular landscape.

The course crosses Lewa’s open savannah before following the Lewa River back towards the finish at the conservancy headquarters. Relatively flat terrain is made considerably tougher by hot conditions and an altitude of approximately 5,500ft above sea level.
